Welcome to the PingMan Documentation

PingMan is a free Discord bot that monitors your voice channels and instantly notifies the right people when someone joins. It started as a small tool for friends, grew into a proper side project, and is now available for any server to use.

Features

Subscriptions

  • Choose who triggers a notification — any member joining, or specific users and roles
  • Choose who gets notified — @everyone, online members only (@here), or specific users and roles
  • Redirect notifications to a dedicated text channel instead of the voice channel's chat
  • Set a per-channel cooldown to prevent notification spam during join waves
  • Notify on every join, or only when the first triggering member joins

Server management

  • View all subscriptions and their status across your server with /status
  • Pause all server notifications at once with /global
  • Grant roles access to manage subscriptions with /access

User settings

  • Pause notifications for yourself across all servers with /settings
  • Opt out of being added to subscriptions by server admins

Getting Started

Subscriptions are created and managed through a single command — /setup-channel. It walks you through a short wizard to set up who triggers a notification and who gets pinged.

Add PingMan to your server, then head over to the Getting Started guide to create your first subscription.
